Summary:
The job holder will develop work analysing the Kenyan Human Resources informatics System data. The post will require someone with data handling skills and statistical or epidemiological training and ideally, analysis experience who has an interest in human resources for health work.
Reporting Lines: The post reports to the Principal Investigator also liaising with collaborators in CDC and Emory University, USA.

Liaison with senior personnel in government and professional associationsDatabase handling and documentationData analysis using statistical methods and softwareReport writing and scientific reporting for presentation and publicationDevelopment of proposals for future work and continued fundingPlanning and supervision of fieldworkDevelop structured literature search approaches and carry out literature searches of major Liaison with Ministry of Health, Nursing and Clinical Officer Councils and Medical Practitioners BoardEvaluation of existing database, creation of appropriate data dictionaries (meta-data) and data cleaning.Descriptive analyses of data on: nurses, clinical officers and doctor.Report writing for MoH, professional councils and collaborator.Writing of scientific reports for presentation and publicationDevelopment of proposals for cohort analysis to describe migration / retention etc with support from supervisorsConduct of fieldwork to verify components of the HRIS databaseLiaison with Dr. A Noor to develop geographic information platform for HR databaseSkills and Competence:
Qualifications and skills:
Degree in health related subject (eg. BSN) or epidemiology / statistics / surveying / geographyMPH or MSc in Epidemiology / Statistics / Informatics or geographyGood computer skills in basic office programmesGood report writing skillsGood presentation skills (use of powerpoint or other media) and communication skillsUnderstanding of health system and interest in HRHAbility to work with limited supervision and to supervise staff in field workExperience:
Post holder will have:
Data management skills – experience with large databasesUse of statistical software and conduct of prior analyses (e.g. use of R, STATA, SAS, SPSS etc)Application Procedure:
