Kirinyaga Water Technical Manager and Internal Auditor Jobs in Kenya

Kirinyaga Water & Sanitation Company is one of the Water Service Providers contracted by Tana Water Services Board (TWSB) as an agent to provide water and sanitation services in Kirinyaga and part of Mbeere Districts.

Technical Manager

Overall Responsibility

The Technical manager will ensure that all the technical resources of the company are well managed
Specific Duties and Responsibilities will be
Directing, coordinating, controlling, monitoring and managing the company’s technical operations and ensuring good operations and maintenance of infrastructure for quality water and sanitation servicesDesigning all projects to be undertaken by the companyEnsuring that the water is treated and that the quality meets WHO standardsEnsuring that Unaccounted For Water (UFW)/Non Revenue Water is reduced to acceptable levelsEnsuring proper management of the technical assetsDeveloping departmental strategies, targets, policies, procedures and plans to facilitate achievement of overall company’s objectivesTaking responsibility for training, development and motivation of the departmental staffEnsuring that the needs of the customer are effectively metAny other duties allocated by the Managing DirectorBSC Civil/Water Engineering from a reputable university. Those registered with professional bodies will have an added advantageMinimum of five (5) years and relevant post qualification working experience in a busy water sector institution, three of which must be in a senior positionHave demonstrated ability to manage water and sanitation utilities with sound innovationsAbility to work unsupervised and on own initiativeGood report writing, communication skills and team playerConversant with the Public Procurement and Disposal Act 2005 and Disposal Regulations 2006Computer literate and have Auto CAD knowledgeInternal Auditor

Overall Job Purpose:

Reporting functionally to the Board Audit Committee and administratively to the Managing Manager, the Internal Auditor will be responsible for assisting management and the Board in the effective discharge of their responsibilities by furnishing them with reports containing analysis, recommendations, counsel and information concerning the activities/operations reviewed including risk Management systems and governance.

Key Responsibilities

Designing, reviewing and developing audit techniques and procedures for assessing comprehensive financial and systems audit reporting.In consultation with the Board, formulate, implement and review corporate audit policies, norms and procedures.Reviewing and appraising the soundness and efficiency of all internal control systems including but not limited to financial, operations and procedures.Preparing the annual audit programme and ensuring that it is effectively and efficiently implemented.Analyzing outcomes of audit activities, providing timely and accurate reports and following through to ensure that recommendations are considered and implemented in a timely manner.Carrying out special audits and investigations as may be required from time to time and preparing reports of findings for the Board.Liaising with the external auditors as appropriate to ensure timely external auditing is carried out on the organization.Any other duties allocated by the Managing DirectorBachelor of Commerce Degree preferably in accounting/auditing option or its equivalent from a recognized universityCertified Public Accountant – CPA(K)Minimum of 5 years experience in a busy audit firmHave demonstrated professional compliance in auditing and computerized accountingExcellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work under minimal supervisionGood report writing and communication skillsInterested and Qualified candidates should forward their applications with updated CVs and copies of education and professional qualifications, indicating day time telephone contacts and three professional referees, current and expected remuneration to the address below.
