Position Title: Information Management Consultant
Location: Nairobi
Duration: 2 months
Start Date: Immediately
Reporting to: Education Cluster Co-Lead
Justification
The Education Sector Group through cluster coordination mechanism is responding to the emergency situation caused by the drought in Northern and North Eastern Kenya as well as in the refugee camps of Dadaab and Kakuma.
At the initial response to the drought, education supplies including education kits, ECD kits and boarding supplies were delivered to schools with increased students in the drought affected areas. The supplies come with different kind of trainings such as management of boarding schools, hygiene and sanitation issues, and training for teachers to handle larger classes.
This response comes as an integrated part of the Education Cluster support to the Ministry of Education where UNICEF co-leads the coordination in collaboration with Save the Children. As a part of this process it is essential that CLAs provide the necessary technical support to the cluster secretariat.
There is a need to work closely with DEOs and schools to identify the various needs of education service delivery and system and subsequently coordinate the different Directorates of MOE and the Education Partners.
Information and data management is the key to an appropriate response and the consultant will support the Ministry of Education to collate analysed data and communicate to The Government of Kenya, coordination forums and donors through the Education Sector Group.
This consultant is stationed in Nairobi at the Ministry of Education and in the Save the Children UK office.
