Head Of Production Unit Vacancy

Beacon of Hope Center is a faith based Non Governmental organization that brings hope to women who are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS from poor communities by empowering them to meet their spiritual, social, physical, emotional, economic and family needs in a sustainable way.

Beacon of Hope NGO Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the position of Head of Production. The position is responsible for ensuring design and development of market responsive products, in achievement of our mission of providing opportunities for economic empowerment within our communities.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship and Business Management

Expand the business into new markets through innovative product development and design

Through exceptional relationship management and service delivery, retain key international and local customers

Implement the business plan for the Production unit

Ensure the entire sales cycle is well documented and evidence of commitment between the client and BOH

Marketing and Product development

Gain a clear understanding of customer requirements, develop detailed proposals, negotiating the terms of agreement and closing sales

Develop a weekly and monthly sales plan and ensure that sales targets are achieved for both international and local sales

Develop an indepth knowledge of our market niche and ensure periodic review of existing products for relevant improvements and competitiveness

Ensure that BoH maintains appropriate pricing policy for its products based on market survey and a clear understanding of customer requirements

Develop new channels and outlets to increase market presence based on fairtrade principles

Production Management

Provide leadership to the Production team and ensure that strategic objectives are acheived

Anticipate production deadlines and set clear production plans that ensure products are delivered on time and on budget

Ensure effective management of day to day activities and operations of the production unit including bulk production orders

Ensure timely submission of monthly and other periodic production unit reports in established/agreed formats.

Ensure mechanisms exist for quality check before products are delivered to the showroom/shop/customers.

Ensure prudent management of resources allocated to production unit through effective supplier and debtor management
Duties and Responsibilities for Beacon of Hope NGO Job

Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Senior Management Team.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

(The knowledge, skills and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education and prior experience or on-the-job-training).

Level of Education:

A relevant qualification in Fashion and/or Interior design and/or experience in the industry

Specialized Training/Professional Qualifications:

A Sales and Marketing qualification

Competencies/Abilities/Skills Required:

Must have strong leadership skills and experience as a supervisor in a busy production unit

Proven ability to meet sales targets in a competitive market and strong negotiation skills

Effective problem solver

Ability to translate designs and specifications into quality marketable products.

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Good communication and report writing skills with good spoken and written English and Kiswahili.

Job experience

At least Five (5) years relevant working experience in a similar position.

Authority/Decision Making

The position involves making recommendation on production to the Senior Management Team. Makes decisions on technical issues that relate to production processes.

Special Working Conditions

The position may periodically require the incumbent to work long and odd hours when coordinating and supervising bulk production orders and responding to urgent orders or when necessary to meet deadlines or respond to specific situations.
