Our client is one of the leading and most respected Security Solutions providers for a wide host of clients in diverse industries in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda. They seek to hire a dynamic and result driven individual to fill the position of a Credit Control Manager.
Job Purpose
Take responsibility for the assessment of new business proposals, together with the regular review and assessment of existing exposures/business portfolios across the business alongside managing a team of credit controller and debt collectors
Credit Control Manager Key responsibilities include:
Ensures that the company adherence to corporate credit policies and procedures for consistent handling of collection matters to maintain good customer relations.
Take sole responsibility for credit control functions of the business
Set up and maintain customer credit limits, and ensure all accounts are maintained within specified credit terms and limits.
Contribute to the development/refinement of credit strategy, policy and processes.
Supervise all forms of regular customer contact including statements, phone calls, emails, and formal letters.
Auditing delinquent accounts considered to be uncorrectable to ensure maximum efforts have been taken before assigning bad debt status to the accounts
Establishing and update customers credit activities
Regularly review ledgers with Credit Controllers
Negotiate with suppliers, e.g. credit information, credit insurance and debt collection agencies
Ensure timely and accurate receivables and collections reporting including, but not limited to, cash collections and forecasting and DSO calculations
Effectively manage account/invoice disputes, both internally and externally in order that disputes are resolved within the agreed SLAs.
Reviewing collection reports to ascertain status of collections and balances outstanding and evaluates effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures
Deal with customer queries, including following up with relevant internal departments to resolve issues including strong negotiation skills and hard sell when required
Provide information and support for cash forecasting, monitor actuarial and analyze variances to targets
Drive process and efficiency improvements including current systems, procedures and documents
Measure department performance with appropriate metrics
Provide for ongoing training of the credit staff
Periodic reporting to the Senior Management Team, e.g. divisional cash collection forecasts and aged debt analyses
Skills and qualifications required for the Finance Job
5 Years and above experience in credit management
University Degree in finance, accounting or business related field
CPA (K)/ACCA or equivalent
High level of personal motivation and drive
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
Must be assertive, persistent and have a positive outlook
Highly motivated and ambitious
Ability to follow a task from start to completion
A strong team leader who inspires a winning team
