Job Summary: Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel in the Project.
Key Responsibilities
- Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
- Obtains help by sounding alarms.
- Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
- Supervising Security guards
- Controls traffic by directing drivers and incoming guests.
- Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
- Maintains organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
- Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Assisting the Project manager in undertaking various tasks in accordance with the ‘Mandatory requirements’ of the Security Policy Framework Document , including undertaking; security surveys, security risk assessments, drafting relevant policies and procedures and compiling security reports.
- Develop and implement the Security Operations Manual and update for use by all on site security personnel to cover duties, individual instructions for each post; attendance; use of security equipment; dress standard; training etc.
- Assist the Project manager in drawing up the annual security departmental budget and participate in the Financial Services monthly/quarterly reviews on budget performance.
- Effectively manage and control the security budget and provide accurate information to the when required Prepare business cases in support of large expenditure when required
Skills and Qualifications Required
The job holder must possess:
- Degree holder in any field
- Security professional with a proven management experience within the security industry, the private sector or armed services.
- Enthusiastic and committed approach with a track record of building strong, trusted base relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
- A sound working knowledge of security best practice and legislation affecting the security role.
- Strong management and leadership skills together with excellent communication, influencing, negotiating and engagement skills
- Basic IT skills with a working knowledge of the range of MS Office packages and knowledge of electronic security systems.
- Experience of writing procedures, drafting reports, preparing business cases and compiling and adjusting duty rosters to meet shortfalls in staffing levels
