Our client is a travel agency which fosters simplicity and convenience in how customers book their flights. They are looking for a Ticketing Consultant to assist in quoting the airfares or providing assistance to travel agents in understanding the rules and what can or can’t be done on a particular fare.

Minimum Qualifications of Ticketing Consultant Job

Diploma in Tours & Travel

At least 2 years experience in Tour Consultancy or Ticketing

Must have a solid knowledge of (Global Distribution Systems) GDS – preferably Amadeus for 3-4 years experience

Proficient knowledge of IATA airfare construction

Extensive geographical knowledge

Good attention to detail

Excellent communication skills

Strong organization skills – able to plan, co-ordinate and organize effectively

Self-motivated, patient and disciplined

Ability to work as part of a team and independently

The ability to work under pressure and take responsibility for decision making

Ability to make effective use of resources available to complete tasks to agreed deadline

Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Ticketing Consultant Key Responsibilities

Check and process ticket re-issue’s and fare calculations

Manually build fare constructions such as (Round The World)RTW fares when itineraries do not auto price

Answer internal ticketing queries by phone and email

Assist consultants with understanding of net fare rules and restrictions

Ensuring airlines fares are loaded correctly and liaising with airlines to rectify if not

Check daily for airline contract updates using the nett fare tools and distribute accordingly

Maintain and organize airline contracts, keeping them up to date

Competencies and Skills

The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills:

Excellent customer service skills and fluency in both written and spoken English

Degree or a diploma in Tour operations or tourism management

Over four years experience as Tour consultant in a busy environment

Ability to use various tours/hotel bookings software

Highly organized with excellent planning skills

Be culturally aware and adept at working with people of different diversity.

Ability to work under pressure and provide solutions to problems.
