TAYARI Project Vacancy: Regional Education Program Officer (REPO)

With a worldwide staff of more than 4,000 people, RTI offers innovative research and development and a full spectrum of multidisciplinary services. Universities in North Carolina founded RTI in 1958 as a centerpiece of the Research Triangle Park.
RTI anticipates staffing the following expertise in project positions for donor funded TAYARI Project.
TAYARI is a Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and RTI literacy program funded by Children Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF).
The project is focused on improving quality of Early Childhood Development (ECD) systems and instructions.
It seeks to develop cost-effective, scalable models of Early Childhood Education (ECE) that ensures pre-primary aged children are mentally, physically, socially and emotionally ready to start, and succeed, in primary school.
Role Profile: The Regional Education Program Officer will provide leadership and oversee all Tayari activities in Siaya County.
The REPO will provide technical support for the development of teachers’ guide, pupils’ materials, and other related instructional materials.
In addition, he /she will collaborate effectively with the county government, MOEST, MOH and TSC county officers, head teachers, teachers and other ECD stakeholders in the region to ensure quality programme implementation.
Qualifications and Experience
- B.A./B.Ed. and eight (8) years of experience in the education sector,
- M.A./M.Ed. preferred;
- understanding of scientifically-based pre-literacy and numeracy research;
- knowledge of a balanced early literacy framework;
- knowledge of Kiswahili and English transition instruction strategies;
- familiarity with the policies and procedures of the MoEST and local school communities.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite,
- strong presentation and facilitation skills.
