Salary: 50k – 80k Gross
Our client is a social enterprise in agriculture which was established in Kenya to enhance capacity building in food production to farmers. They are looking to hire a young IT survey Senior Accountant who is excellent in SAGE PASTEL, and good experience in a mid-sized audit firm.
Duties & Responsibilities
Preparation of monthly management accounts
Preparation of half year and year-end financial statements.
Preparation and submission of all statutory payments are made on time.
Creditors and debtors reconciliation
Daily reconciliation of farm and other sales.
Banking operations
Ensure accurate allocation of cost to the correct cost centre’s
Monthly stock count and valuation
Maintaining fixed assets register
Supplier payments.
Cash-flow statements
Preparation of annual budgets
Payroll processing.
Ensuring accurate and timely data capture and reports.
Qualification & Skills
Degree in a business related field (Finance / Accounting)
CPA(K).
A background in an audit firm will be an added advantage.
2 – 5 years working experience in the Senior accounting position.
Experience in a farming related company will be an added advantage.
Sound understanding of taxation in the Kenyan context.
Ability to lead a team.
Demonstrated capacity to analyse complex situations, solve problems and manage change.
Demonstrated skills in application of ICT tools and especially accounting software Sage Pastel.
Track record in achieving business targets, compliance and meeting legal and quality requirements.
