Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
1. Formulate and implement HR policies while ensuring compliance with the law
2. Plan and coordinate staff recruitment, selection and exit as need arises
3. Monitor induction of new staff, their probation and confirmation
4. Conduct training need analysis, plan and coordinate staff training
5. Manage the collective bargaining process/negotiations on labour relations matters
6. Approve staff leave, Sick off and permission
7. Ensure an efficient performance management system
8. Conduct staff appraisal
9. Plan staff succession and career development
10. Staff discipline management
11. In liaison with other managers, administer staff welfare matters relating to medical schemes pension and ensuring required documentation is in place.
12. Serve as a link between HOD’s and staff by handling enquiries and giving feedback on work related matters
13. Provide basic counseling to staff that have performance related issues/obstacles
14. Ensuring statutory registration for NSSF,NHIF
15. Ensure a peaceful working environment through promoting sound industrial relations
Experience Required:
7 years in Human Resources
3+ years in a HR Management role
Logistics/ Mining/ manufacturing experience required
Experience as an HR Manager managing a large workforce of 400+ employees at all levels
Extensive experience with Unions is required for this role
Must be highly computer literate
Must have very good English skills (read, write and speak)
The ideal candidate has a solid employment record in a related industry, works well with people, is experienced in managing a diverse workforce including expatriate employees.
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing multiple sites.
This role will have 2 HRMs reporting into it of which one is based in Mombasa
