Job Title: Patient Support Activity Manager
Duty Station/Mission: Nairobi, Kenya/ MSF Belgium
Duration: Fixed term contract, extendable
Medecins Sans Frontieres Belgium is looking to fill the position of a Patient Support Activity Manager (Kibera) for our Kenya mission, based in Nairobi County. The successful candidate will be under the direct supervision of the Project Medical Referent with technical support/ supervision from the Field Coordinator.
Objective of the Position:
· Elaborate the overall patient support activities strategy.
· Ensure that Patient support activities are within the defined project minimum package of activities with specific attention on a smooth complementarity between the three components (Health promotion, Counselling and Social work) and avoid overlap.
· Ensure cohesion and smooth communication flow between the three components and coordinate the overall management of patient support activities as a comprehensive package.
· Ensure collaboration with community representatives, patients networks and partners.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
S/he will perform the following main tasks, among others:-
· Manage the Patient Support Department activities: supervision of staff, delegating tasks, coaching, etc.
· Be the technical link in the PS department; Social Work, Mental Health, Health Promotion and medical teams in the clinics and project (give briefings, debriefings).
· Review Patient Support component integration, tools, activities, strategy.
· Analyze challenges in the implementation of patient support activities and propose practical solutions.
· Lead the development, promotion and ensure the implementation of the agreed patient support policy and strategy adapted to the Kibera project context, with input from medical teams.
· Give quality support to (SW, MH, HP) teams.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Degree in relevant field (Human Sciences in sociology, anthropology, psychology).
Experience:At least 2 years of professional experience in similar/ related Patient Support Activities.
Skills/ Competences: Ability to train/ coach other staff, diplomatic, cultural sensitive, patient, flexible; proactive, attentive to details, problem solving and organizational skills; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment with proactive attitude.
Language:Proficiency in written and oral English & Swahili.
