Term ‐ National Position)
VSF
Germany is an international Non Governmental Organization, providing
humanitarian aid and development assistance to pastoralists and vulnerable
communities in areas where livestock is of importance.
VSF
Germany supports in animal health, livestock related agriculture, marketing,
food safety, drought responses and mitigation, capacity development of
communities and governmental institutions, peace and conflict resolution with
the ultimate aim of food security and strengthened livelihoods of
pastoralist communities.
VSF
Germany is undertaking a one year livestock intervention in 5 counties of Lakes
State under the Water for Lakes Programme which is implemented by Euroconsult
Mott MacDonald through a funding to the Government of South Sudan (GoSS) by the
Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
While the Water for Lakes Programme aims to stimulate economic development by:
unlocking the potential of integrated development and management of land and
water resources for production in agriculture, livestock and fisheries and;
improving community health conditions.
VSF Germany seeks the services of a qualified, experienced and competent micro‐finance
specialist to support effective delivery of the related component of
the project.
Key
responsibility of the position: Develop
and facilitate implementation of successful and sustainable micro‐finance
services among pastoralist communities in Lakes State to enable them surmount
constraints of access to quality animal health services.
Terms
of engagement: This
is a short term position spanning 3 months and commencing as soon as the
selection team finds a suitable and available candidate.

Desired
competencies: The
prospective candidate will hold at least a diploma level education complemented
by hands‐on experience that together cover the complete scope of
the following competencies.
1.
Pastoral production systems;
2.
Livestock value chain;
3.
Micro‐finance systems;
4.
South Sudan context and environment;
5.
Effective communication through writing and presentation.

structured proposal detailing approaches, techniques and methodologies they
plan to employ to enable them deliver on the key responsibility.
