Early Childhood Programme- Kenya (MECP-K): MECP-K

is an Early Years Programme founded in the 1980’s with the objective of

promoting access to quality Early Childhood Development (ECD) for children in

marginalized communities in Kenya in order to enhance smooth transition into

and through primary school.
 

MECP-K

is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with strong personal

commitment to the development needs of children to fill in the position as ECD Programme Officer (PO) in the Community Development Department.
 

1 Post

Location: Mombasa (Work

throughout the Coast Region)

The ECD PO will work closely with the County Education and Health departments,

development partners and stakeholders to facilitate implementation of project

activities and deliverables under the guidance of the Lead ECD PO in the

department. 

The

ECD PO will organise, coordinate and facilitate trainings of various ECD

stakeholders and provide on-going mentorship and support as the Programme

requires.

Qualifications and competencies

• Bachelor’s
  
  Degree in ECD, Education or Community Development from a recognized
  
  University.


• Minimum
  
  of 3 years’ experience working in the education or community development
  
  work preferably ECD


• Demonstrate
  
  ability to work independently as well as in a team.


• Excellent
  
  communication, facilitation, interpersonal and team-building skills


• Strong
  
  organizational and reporting skills.


• An
  
  understanding of ECD related policies and community development issues.


• Computer
  
  literate


• Fluency
  
  in English and Kiswahili is a MUST
