Sanergy is looking for a qualified Maintenance Technician, Infrastructure – Equipment and Auto to join our Infrastructure team on a full- time basis.

Our systems-based approach to solving the sanitation crisis involves 3 critical steps: we build a dense network of high-quality sanitation facilities — Fresh Life Toilets — franchised to residents in the community.
We collect the waste regularly and safely remove it from the community. Finally, we convert the waste into valuable agricultural inputs, which we sell to Kenyan farmers.
About the role: The purpose of the team is to do hands on maintenance of all Sanergy assets including equipment and vehicles with an aim to reduce the MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) and increase the MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure).
The purpose of this role is the responsibility for AM and PM of industrial equipment and vehicles, while responding to breakdowns and resolving them immediately.
A typical day for you might include the following
- Hands on maintenance of machinery and vehicles.
- Train operators on AM and Preventive Maintenance of equipment and vehicles
- Overseeing the operators conduct Autonomous Maintenance as required for both equipment and vehicles.
- Conducting Preventive Maintenance as required of both equipment and vehicles.
- Responding to breakdowns and resolve them immediately
- Recording all maintenance data thus updating the TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) board regularly
- Testing and implementing equipment improvements, while tracking MTTR and MTBF for all equipment and vehicles
Skills and qualifications you’ll need
- Working experience in equipment and vehicles maintenance
- Experience in resolving breakdowns in a timely manner in a proactive manner
- Embrace and show willingness to try new approaches
- Good interpersonal skills, should easily work with others
- Diploma in Mechanical/ Automobile Engineering is required.
- Experience in conducting and training on Autonomous Maintenance activities
- Experience in overhauling machines/engines is essential
- The person should possess technical skills such as welding, fitting, grinding
