Duties and
Responsibilities
- An officer at this level will be deployed as head of a
Division. He/She is responsible to the Director of information for overall
efficient management of a division.
Specific duties and
responsibilities will include:-
- Initiating, formulating and implementing information
policies, programmes and strategies; - Developing strategies for implementation of information
research findings; coordinating information services; and - Ensuring coverage of development projects in line with the
Constitution and Kenya Vision 2030.
Qualifications
For appointment to this
grade, a candidate must have:
- Served for a minimum period of 10 years, two (2) of which
should have been at the grade of Principal Information Officer, CSG 8 and
above or in a comparable and relevant position in the wider public service; - A Bachelors Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public
Relations, Communication Studies, Media Studies/Science, Photojournalism
or equivalent qualification from a university recognized in Kenya;
OR
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences and a Post Graduate
Diploma in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Communication
Studies, Media Studies/Science, Photojournalism or equivalent
qualification from a university recognized in Kenya; and - Demonstrated professional competence and managerial
capability as reflected in work performance and results.
