Chemonics International is seeking long and short-term professionals for an anticipated 5-year USAID-funded project in Kenya focusing on increasing food security and agricultural productivity of staple foods in selected regions.
We are seeking specialists in the following areas:
Food SecurityStaple foods production and value chains – maize, sorghum, cassava, yamsNutritionFarmer association developmentHarvesting, storage and processingSanitary and phytosanitary measuresMicrofinance and SME financePublic-private partnershipsRural infrastructureAgriculture and trade policy and institutional environmentGender and youth empowermentWater resource management, ecological sustainability & pest managementCapacity building and trainingAdvanced degree required in agriculture, economics, or related areaAt least 10 years experience promoting agricultural production and marketing in East African countriesProven track record in successful implementation of technical assignments and proven managerial/supervisory experiencePrior experience with USAID highly preferredExperience working collaboratively with host government and international donors and local organizationsFluency in English is required.Send electronic submissions to KenyaStaples@chemonics.com by November 2, 2010.
