AAH-I, an international non-profit making agency that implements health and development projects in Africa, seeks to recruit a dynamic, innovative, research manager for its health costing research project in Kenya. The position will be based in AAH-I‘s Nairobi Office with frequent travel to different parts of the country. The Research Project Manager has overall responsibility for AAH-I’s research projects in Kenya, and represents AAH-I with the Government, donors, partners and other key stakeholders to foster a supportive environment for AAH-I’s research work. He/she directs and supervises research staff and activities, ensuring that they are planned, implemented and coordinated within the overall AAH-I programme strategy and partner guidelines. He/she ensures prudent management of resources to achieve the desired results. He/she is also responsible for proposal development to further grow the AAH-I Kenya programme and expand its funding sources.
Required Qualifications: •Master’s degree in economics or the social sciences with significant experience in public health research projects management; •Proven track record of project management, with at least 5 years progressive experience supervising health or economic evaluation research projects; •Excellent computer and report writing skills; •Demonstrated experience in project development, implementation, and evaluation; •Proven track record in resource mobilization; •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; •Ability to create positive relations with government officials, other NGOs, CBOs and communities to enhance AAH-I’s programmes. •Experience with financial management and compliance with donor requirements. •Ability to lead a team and to work with minimal supervision.
