Working closely with the Project Chief of Party, the Project Deputy Chief of Party provides strategic planning, management guidance and oversight to the project and is responsible for achieving the planned results. Supervises and manages a team of highly qualified technical and administrative staff and align their efforts with program goals. Provides technical assistance to ensure effective implementation and coordination of program activities. Ensures timely and accurate reporting of program activities and results to USAID. Presents progress, achievements, and lessons learned to key stakeholders. Assists the annual work planning process associated with the project. Provides technical assistance to regional/county counterparts on technical issues and participates in relevant technical advisory groups. Troubleshoots to prevent and resolves potential problems and review outputs for quality control. Develops strategic relationships and alliances with the Ministry of Health, other USG partners and donors. Increases the visibility of the program through representation at high-level visits with USAID, PEPFAR and the Ministry of Health. Prepares briefing documents on the program.

EducationMedical degree, or Advanced degree in public health or other relevant fieldExperience, Skills & Minimum Required QualificationsMinimum five (5) years of managing a large complex HIV or related programMinimum five (5) years of senior level experience working with the Kenya Ministry of Health, preferably at the National and County levelDemonstrated experience managing USAID or other donor-financed projectsStrong familiarity and command of USAID regulations and complianceProven track record of directing, motivating, and managing project teams composed of technical experts, program managers, and administrative staffDemonstrated and successful experience in managing projects, setting realistic priorities and timelines and following through appropriatelyDemonstrated experience of successfully managing relationships with governments, donors, and other partners in a complex political environmentExpertise in HIV, malaria, TB, and maternal and newborn healthExtensive field experience in KenyaExceptional communication skillsHow to apply:
