Main Purpose Of Job:
Ensure that a quality project database is up to date and readily available for research purposes and project decision making.

Amref Data Clerk Principal Responsibilities
Data Capture and Reporting
Carry out data entry of the project of the assigned SRs.
Participate in arranging files in the project archive
Ensure that GMIS database is up to date and readily available for research purposes and reporting.
Ensure that the confidentiality of any information relating to project and services of AMREF acquired in the course of duty, is maintained.
Data analysis and reporting
Participate in the design, and implementation of data analysis plans.
Participate in the implementation of data management policies that include: database design, database backup and storage, security, data cleaning, analysis and integration.
Participate in the preparation of Data management SOPs to ensure quality assurance and control of data collected.
Project review meetings
Participate in the project review meetings.
Others Assist the other project staff in other duties, as required
Any Other Tasks
(E.g. sitting in various committees)
Required Qualifications for Data Clerk Admin Job
Education (academic and professional as per AMREF Policy)
Diploma or first degree in social sciences, IT, statistics, Public health or its equivalent
Experience (number of years as per AMREF Policy)
Experience in data entry using Microsoft Access database
Experience in conducting interviews
Experience in data analysis both qualitative and quantitative is an added advantage

Communication skills (oral and written)
Competences
Team player
Ability to maintain high level of participants information confidentiality
Ability to be attentive to details
Ability to work under minimum supervision
Environmental Conditions
Corporate Policies, Systems, Procedures and Methods
Thorough understanding of all AMREF’s Policies and Procedures – HR, Finance, Procurement, Transport, Per Diem, Communications, Asset and Disposal, ICT, etc.
Work Environment
Normal office environment.
Hours of Work
38 hours per week, Monday to Thursday with official working hours from 8.00am to 5.00pm with one hour lunch break from 1 pm to 2 pm. Friday official working hours from 8.00am to 2.00pm
