Vacancy: Air & Sea Freight Logistics Manager
Reporting To:Chief Operations Managing
Logistics Job Specification:
Organize the safe and efficient storage and distribution of goods, and to ensure that orders are satisfied correctly.
Responsibilities Include:
Organizing for Air shipments and Sea freight Shipment.
Coordinating drivers, vehicles, loads and journeys.
Negotiating and agreeing shipment and logistics services contracts.
Developing and confirming delivery and shipment schedules.
Planning for and negotiating technical logistics challenges.
Preparing paperwork for regulatory and statutory institutions.
Liaising with the external and internal clients within the organization.
Implementing health and safety standards within the yards, warehouse and the office premises.
Liaising with the operations and the sales teams to ensure that cargo are delivered on time and in full.
To ensure that the client is happy with the logistics service.
Coordinate comprehensive logistical or reverse logistical functions for product life cycles, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, recycling, reuse, or final disposal of resources.
Communicate freight transportation information to customers or suppliers, using transportation management, electronic logistics marketplace, or electronic freight information systems, to improve efficiency, speed, or quality of transportation services.
Review global, national, or regional transportation or logistics reports for ways to improve efficiency or minimize the environmental impact of logistics activities.
Logistics Manager Job Qualifications:
Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain.
Higher Diploma in Supply Chain management
At least 3 years experience in a Logistics and Supply chain environment.
Flexibility to travel in major towns in Kenya.
Must possess considerable knowledge of Air Freight and Sea Freight management.
Strong communication skills, problem solving skills, leadership skills, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
