Vacancy: Air & Sea Freight Logistics Manager
 

Reporting To: Chief Operations Managing
 

Job Specification: Organize the safe and efficient storage and distribution of goods, and to ensure that orders are satisfied correctly.

Responsibilities Include:

• Organizing for Air shipments and Sea freight Shipment.


• Coordinating drivers, vehicles, loads and journeys.


• Negotiating and agreeing shipment and logistics services contracts.


• Developing and confirming delivery and shipment schedules.


• Planning for and negotiating technical logistics challenges.


• Preparing paperwork for regulatory and statutory institutions.


• Liaising with the external and internal clients within the organization.


• Implementing health and safety standards within the yards, warehouse and the office premises.


• Liaising with the operations and the sales teams to ensure that cargo are delivered on time and in full.


• To ensure that the client is happy with the logistics service.


• Coordinate comprehensive logistical or reverse logistical functions for product life cycles, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, recycling, reuse, or final disposal of resources.


• Communicate freight transportation information to customers or suppliers, using transportation management, electronic logistics marketplace, or electronic freight information systems, to improve efficiency, speed, or quality of transportation services.


• Review global, national, or regional transportation or logistics reports for ways to improve efficiency or minimize the environmental impact of logistics activities.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain.


• Higher Diploma in  Supply Chain management


• At least 3 years experience in a Logistics and Supply chain environment.


• Flexibility to travel in major towns in Kenya.


• Must possess considerable knowledge of Air Freight and Sea Freight management.


• Strong communication skills, problem solving skills, leadership skills, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
