Our client a Shipping Line company is looking for a ,

Shipping Manager – Mombasa Operations

Purpose Statement
Manage the shipping operations in a manner that ensures timely, cost efficient and effective operations and that meets or exceeds customer expectations.

Logistics Job Principal Accountabilities

Established and improved refer containers on regional sector.

Mega Container Line Agency; Secured & managed agency

Freight Forwarding; shipments

Out of Gauge shipments; (Oil Field Equipment) from on various sectors,

Managed shipments and T/S of Project cargoes of up to 120 M/tons (per piece)

Ensured minimum delinquency of containers and quick turn around.

Custom Documentation: Provided custom documentation and door delivery services.

Implemented ERP System

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, economics, business administration or equivalent. Additional qualifications related to shipping will be an added advantage;

Diploma in clearing and forwarding or shipping

At least 10 years experience in the shipping industry, 5 of which should be in a management position in a recognised shipping company;

Be conversant with shipping documentation and customs and port operations; and

Be a team player and be ready to work during odd hours.

Mostly office based

Will spend some time at the port and in customs offices
