Expansion Director Career Opportunities in Kenya
The Expansion Manager is responsible for leading the Sendy Launch Team into new locations, to operationalize a new Sendy city within a matter of a couple months.
It takes a mixture of marketing creativity, analytical brains and pure hustle to bring a new city to life quickly. This launch team travels around every couple months, growing Sendy from the ground up.
We are looking for a leader that can manage an international team, promote the Sendy brand, hire local talent, tackle many different projects, and grow Sendy into a global courier business.
Responsibilities for Expansion Director Job
Research your new city and learn the courier pain points, regulations and market opportunity for Sendy.
Create and execute local marketing strategies to encourage user adoption and penetration of Sendy.
Work with Community Manager to build and execute on the local marketing launch strategy.
Work with Operations Manager to build relationships with Riders and get the supply side of Sendy ready for a new city launch.
Explore business development opportunities (sponsorships, partnerships, and co-marketing promotions) to increase awareness and visibility of Sendy in local communities.
Find, hire and guide a local team to run the city for when you and your launch team move on to the next location.
Lead organization of strategic launch party to get Sendy off the ground.
Corporate & Business Clients:
Strategize and lead all new corporate and business client acquisition activities in the initial launch stage of a new location. Take full ownership and responsibility of finding, negotiating, and closing business deals.
Handle corporate client inquiries and concerns personally.
Develop strategy for acquiring traditional business clients.
Lead all Business Client acquisitions. Bring in CEO or COO to negotiations only on very unique cases.
Work with Business Development Lead to help hire and onboard region Business Development Managers
Qualifications for Expansion Director Jobs in Kenya
BA degree in Business,
Finance or Marketing. Graduate Degree strongly preferred.
7+ years of marketing or operations management experience (or related).
Prior experience managing cross-functional teams.
Successfully executed business development opportunities and negotiating partnerships.
Understanding of startup speed and working environment.
Fluent in English & Kiswahili, other languages a plus.
Ability to hustle: you thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-solver: analytical mind that can navigate obstacles on the fly in a logical and rational way.
Charmer: you can easily identify and network with the influencers of a city.
Interested in tackling different problems each day, from Business Development to Operations to Event Planning and Support.
