Position Title: Pharmacist
Duty Station: Lamu (Wiyoni) Island
Role Summary: The Pharmacist will work directly with physicians, other health professionals, and patients to ensure that the medications prescribed for patients contribute to the best possible health outcomes.
Primarily responsible for proper supply of medicines; for their secure and proper storage; and for their distribution throughout the health centre.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and monitoring of medication regimens
- Assessment of patients with undiagnosed or diagnosed conditions
- Ascertaining clinical medication management needs
- Specialized monitoring of disease states
- Compounding medications
- Providing patients with health monitoring and advice
- Supervising pharmacy technicians
- Overseeing and dispensing prescription medication
- Provision of non-prescription or over the counter drugs
- Education and counselling on optimal use of medication to hospital staff such as RN’s and physicians
- Referrals to other health professionals
- Pharmacokinetic evaluation
Requirements
- Certification: The Incumbent MUST be a licensed Pharmacist registered with the Pharmacist and poisons board
- Experience: Over two (2) years hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Education: B.S. in Pharmacy preferred
- Must be willing to work and reside in Lamu

Employment Terms
- Expected Salary: KES 50,000(gross) during probation period and after confirmation (60,000)
- Contract renewed after every year
- Medical Cover provided by the company
- 21 days leave
