Position: Project Manager

Location: Nairobi
 

Salary: KShs.50,000Job Description

The Project Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific short-term and long-term projects.

Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project

Manage project staff and/or volunteers according to the established policies and practices of the organization

Determine the resources required to complete the project and develop a schedule to effectively allocate the resources to the different project activities.

Develop forms and records to document project activities and ensure proper and secure documentation of all project information.

Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project

Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.

Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project

Write reports on the project for management and for funders

Monitor cash flow projections and approve all budgeted project expenditures and report actual cash flow and variance to senior management as required.

Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures and prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for funders as outlined in funding agreements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management or related field.

2 -3 years experience in a project management role, with demonstrated ability in Project Financial Management, monitoring and evaluation, reporting and staff management. (especially in an NGO)

Proper knowledge of the Rift valley terrain as projects will revolve a lot around the Rift valley (knowledge of the local dialect will be an added advantage

knowledge of project management techniques and tools

proven experience in strategic planning and risk management
