Boiler Operator Job in Kenya (Urgent) - Sameer Agriculture and Livestock

Urgent Position: Sameer Agriculture and Livestock (K) Limited is a leading Dairy Companies in the region re-know for its world class Daima brands products among others. 

We urgently wish to recruit a dynamic and result driven candidate to fill the below position:

Vacancy: Boiler Operator

The Purpose of the Job: Boiler operators run automatically fired boilers to generate steam for the plants. 

The work includes feeding fuel into furnaces or boilers, observing pressure, temperature and draft meters on panels to verify specified boiler fuel feed, draft openings, water level and steam pressure. 

The person in this position may also maintain meter logs, read gauges and record data.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Promote and Work accident free with safety the number one Priority


• Charge the feed hoppers, maintain the correct levels of fuel in the boiler hoppers, mix and level fuel in the log yard using front-end loader and observe the unloading of delivery trucks for unacceptable wood waste


• Perform routine inspections of the overhead conveyors, chains and screws to ensure the integrity of the equipment


• Report any and all mechanical issues and near misses to the relevant person for necessary action.


• Work  safely while performing various water chemistry tests ON BOILER water systems.


• Perform routine housekeeping duties as assigned by maintaining site tidiness and general good housekeeping throughout the plant.


• Participate in boiler shut downs and cleaning of boiler internals.


• Perform other duties as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.


• Maintain basic records as required during operations


• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety procedures

Qualifications

• Minimum O’ level qualifications


• Eager to learn and quick to understand new operations


• Can work with minimum supervision


• Responsible personality


• Those with Boiler Operations proficiency (certified) certificate and license from National industrial Training Institute will have added advantage.


• Must have 5 years experience as a boiler operator.


• A certificate in electrical or mechanical engineering will be an added advantage.


• Have full / total knowledge of steam boiler operations and maintenance.


• Possess basic knowledge on mechanical dairy effluent treatment plant operations.
