Principal Information Officer Post in the Office of The Governor
Job Group N
Applications are hereby invited from qualified candidates for the post of Principal Information Officer in the Office of the Governor.
Requirements for Appointment
1. Hold a first degree in any of the following disciplines: mass communication, journalism, public relations, marketing or related from a recognized institution in Kenya.
Holders of a Masters degree may have an added advantage;
2. Have at least 5 years hands on experience in the field of information gathering and communication;
3. Good professional skills in writing, editing, layout and design, printing and publishing;
4. Hands on knowledge in covering public forums and assessing public perception about economic, political and social issues;
5. Creative and innovative with ability to package the information to image the Office of the Governor and the County at large;
6. Keen on current affairs and trends in development agenda;
7. Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work under the direction of Director of Governor’s Press Service;
Coordinate press teams for prompt and effective coverage of the Governor’s functions;
Drafting speeches and talking notes for the Governor;
Write topical issues including branding Nyandarua County;
Perform basic administrative issues including crowd management;
Any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Office of the Governor.
Remuneration and Terms of Service
The salary for Job Group N post is Ksh 48,190 x 2,400-50,590 x 2,550-53,140 X 2,700 -55,840 X 3,000-58,840 x 3,150-61,990 X 3,300 – 65,290 per month.
In addition, Monthly allowance of Ksh 24,000 and Commuter allowance of Kshs 8,000 shall be paid to Principal Information Officer.
There are other benefits that apply to public servants according to the Job Group which you shall also enjoy.
Terms of Employment are on permanent and pensionable for Principal Information Officer.
