Assistant Motor Assessor Job Opportunities at First Assurance, Kenya

Job Purpose:
To control and rationalise the process and costs of vehicle repairs to ensure customer satisfaction and reduction in claims costs.

Assistant Motor Assessor Job Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to Internal Motor Assessor, the job holder will:

Assess vehicles to determine extent of damage and ascertain repair cost.

Review external assessors’ reports and ascertain correctness of assessments and provide recommendations accordingly.

Recommend repairs for approval by claims manager.

Authorise repairs to garages upon approval.

Supervise the performance of external assessors and repairers.

Visit garages to ensure repair progress is within agreed service levels.

Periodic on site assessment to ascertain the damages.

Determine reasonability of prices/costs of repairs using database.

Handle customer complaints in liaison with the external assessors.

Weed out fraudulent and exaggerated claims.

Job Specification:

Education:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.

Training / Skills:

Insurance training – e.g. Certificate of Proficiency, Dip IIK.

Well versed in computer applications.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Analytical skills.

Negotiation skills.

Organizational skills.
Work Experience for Assistant Motor Assessor Jobs in Kenya

3 years at a busy bodyshop, insurance company, or valuation/assessment firm.

Personal Attributes:

Team player.

Self- motivated.

Quick learner.

Hard working and creative.

High Integrity.
