Economic Advisor Post in the Office of The Governor

Job Group R

Applications are hereby invited from qualified candidates for the post of Economic Advisor in the Office of the Governor.

Requirements for Appointment

1. Hold at least a first degree in any of the following disciplines: Economics, Commerce, Strategic Planning, Entrepreneurship, Value Chain, and Finance or related from a recognized university in Kenya. 

Holders of a Masters degree may have an added advantage;

2. Have at least 10 years hands on experience in economics of development or planning for efficient utilization of scarce resources;

3. Good in professional writing, communication and interpersonal skills;

4. Wide experience as a system analyst and fluent in packaging statistical data for intended application;

5. Strategic thinker and can work hard with minimum supervision in very diverse issues;

6. An avid reader and abreast with county, national and global issues and the economic trends.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

Play the role of Economic Advisor to the Office of the Governor and indeed the economic policy direction in the entire Nyandarua County;

Play a key role during the preparation of County Integrated Development Plan, Annual County Budget and their implementation;

Drive the agenda of inter-ministerial integrated development planning to enhance synergy in the Action Plans;

Assist the ministries and departments in drawing coherent Flagship Projects and funding consistency in those undertakings;

Play a key role during the preparation Project Proposals for external funding

Prepare Sessional Papers as necessary to be shared among all interested stakeholders;

Prepare comparative statistical data about this county against counties, national government and global standards on key development indicators for information and benchmarking;

Any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Office of the Governor.

Remuneration and Terms of Service 

The salary for Job Group R post is Ksh 109,089 x 5,454-114,543 x 5,727-120,270 x 5,902-126,172 x 6,077-132,249 x 6,252-138,501 x 6,427-144,928 per month.

In addition, Monthly House allowance of Kshs 40,000 and Commuter allowance of Kshs 16,000 shall be paid to Economic Advisor.

Terms of Employment are on Contract for Economic Advisor.

Must be a Kenyan citizen and copy of national identity card should be enclosed in the application;

Clearance Certificate from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission of Kenya

Certificate of Good Conduct from CID

CRA Clearance Certificate

Credit Reference Bureau Certificate

Clearance Letter from HELB
