Job Description


The Capital Markets Authority is a statutory agency charged with the responsibility of regulating and developing an efficient capital market in Kenya. 


The Authority invites applications from dynamic, goal-oriented, high performers, with strong problem-solving skills, for the following position:   


Senior Officer – Risk Management


Ref: HCA/SORM/9/2015


1 Position


Reporting to Manager, Internal Audit & Risk Management, the selected candidate will be responsible to:


Coordinating the implementation on enterprise wide risk management framework, policy, procedures and systems in order to minimize Authority’s risk exposure and fraud activities.

Contributing to effective management and reporting of risks within the Authority.

Facilitating the carrying out of risk assessments to determine the risk profile of the Authority, identifying risk control capacity gaps and exposure in the Authority operations, governance, ICT and financial operations.

Reviewing, implementing and maintaining the enterprise-wide risk management strategy, policy and framework as approved by the Board.

Participating in devising improvement strategies for these risk mechanisms and controls.

Managing the Authority fraud risk assessment and prevention procedures and maintain and update the Authority’s risk register.

Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the Authority’s risk management system.

Monitoring and evaluating the status of risk management and general compliance of the Authority.

Coordinating the preparation and presentation of periodic reports to the Audit, Corporate Governance & Risk Management Committee and management as and when required.

Providing secretarial support to the Risk Management Committee.


Minimum Qualifications and Experience


Qualification:


Upper second or equivalent Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field

Membership with a professional body

Professional qualification in risk management or advanced progress towards certification will be required.


Experience:


4 years of relevant experience in a reputable organization.
