Security & Investigations Officer
Job Purpose
To manage all operational aspects, provide leadership in developing and delivery of a Security Risk Strategy for company. Manage security staff and ensure the execution of the day to day investigative and security tasks with the aim to identify potential security threats and risks towards company assets, promote operational safety and security and encourage compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLA’s). The scope of work is to implement effective methods to minimize losses experienced or perceived, and ensure legal action towards any security breach.
Education Requirement
Degree or Diploma in Law Enforcement, Criminal Law, Security Management
Minimum 5 – 10 years in a Law Enforcement, Intelligence/Investigations, Security Management position. Prerequisite – Security/Risk/Safety management, Police Clearance, traceable references. Experience in conducting security risk assessment, analysis and providing cost effective security solutions.Demonstrable management experience in corporate security, contract management and workplace safety.
Experience implementing corporate investigative tactics including interviewing and documentation and general knowledge of law and practices of investigations.
Desirable – Exposure in Eastern, Central Africa, Remote Asset Management, Excellent Networking ability.
Critical Management and Business Continuity, High ethical standards with proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information; Excellent judgment, discretion and diplomacy; Development
Standard Operation Procedures, Case Analysis, Business & people management, MS Projects, Word, Excel, Visio,
Self-starter, problem solving, task focus, system and process focus, ability to multi task, working under pressure, results oriented and a high attention to detail.
Excellent communications skills, both written and oral; excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibility
Planning, designing and implementing an overall security risk management plan for the company by developing operating models and standards;
Develop a Country Security Plan
Initiate Investigations into corruptive and fraud issues, security incidents related to the company’s operations.
Manage and assess compliance by contracted PSC’s with regard to security risks reduction, service rendering;
Ensure security intelligence information are collated, analysed and applied towards ensuring the best of protection level for personnel and operations in area of responsibility;
Ensure that threat and vulnerability assessments are carried-out, at a period interval, and appropriate remedial actions advised, implemented and sustained;
Conduct Security Risk Assessments to Identify security risks or vulnerabilities which may affect the profitability of the Company and implement cost effective physical security solutions;
Develop relationships within the organization to better understand all of the potential security risks which may cause harm to assets; performance, reputation, continued company growth and success,
Create and direct the implementation of emergency plans and procedures to respond immediately to direct and indirect threats;
Ensure that approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are implemented in area of responsibility;
Carry-out all other lawful tasks as may be assigned in the course of duty in area of responsibility.
Development and implementation of Business Continuity Planning;
Effective self-management.
