Our client is a Toyota Kenya franchisee dealership for HINO Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV’S).
In order to compete effectively in the market, increase market share and generate revenues to grow and support the business, the company seeks to recruit a General Manager and a team of Freelance Sales Agents to drive the Brand.
General Manager
Role Overview: Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of the company, lead business development initiatives, set up operational structures to ensure smooth operations, oversee the sales agents work and deliver on set business targets.
They will be responsible for generating strategies to ensure the business delivers value to customers and owners.
The position holder will be the first port of call for all issues involving the operations, marketing, human resources, administration and finance among others.
They will have the overall responsibility to run the business and deliver on profitability and other deliverables.
Key Accountabilities:
- Oversee the day to day operations of the company and ensure seamless interaction between the various functions of the organization;
- Provide guidance and strategic planning for the dealership with respect to sales objectives, goals and targets;
- Lead and motivate the sales agents to ensure they meet the set sales objectives for their market or territory of coverage;
- Manage the office and showroom staff to ensure effective customer service is delivered;
- Ensure sales volumes and profitability objectives are achieved by utilizing all sales channels in a continually changing business environment;
- Develop, Implement and execute all marketing initiatives so as to maximize their impact and to help meet or exceed sales goals;
- Train and develop Sales Agents to ensure consistency and uniformity of sales approach in the market;
- Generate reliable referral sources and prospects for business in order to create a reliable sales pipeline;
- Conduct sales meetings to motivate the team of sales agents, set goals and share successful selling techniques and skills;
- Develop strategies for monitoring Sales Agents performance and tracking their day to day work;
- Develop and enhance customer relationships by establishing, promoting, maintaining excellent customer service and after sales services;
- Working closely with the Managing Director, review achievements and goals and review what needs to be changed;
- Represent the Managing Director in industry meetings, forums, events and exhibitions;
- Perform any other tasks as delegated or required by the managing director from time to time.
Person Specifications / Qualifications
- A degree in a relevant field from a recognized and accredited university;
- A diploma in Sales and Marketing or any other relevant postgraduate qualifications will be an added advantage;
- Over eight (8) years working experience, three (3) of which must have been in a senior business development or general management related role;
- At least 5 years sales and marketing related experience in motor dealership, insurance, banking, technical sales or any other target driven industry.

- Proven ability to drive business using both traditional and new technology driven platforms
- Good working proficiency MS Office Suite.
