Undergraduate Scholarship Programme for Muslim Communities in Non-Member Countries Announcement

For Academic Year 1432H (2011-2012)

1. The Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is pleased to announce the availability of Scholarships for undergraduate study under “the IDB Scholarship Programme for Muslim Communities in Kenya”.

2. The IDB Scholarship Programme offers Scholarships to the selected candidates to pursue undergraduate study in the fields of Medicine, Engineering, Agriculture and related subjects. The scholarship covers:-

Monthly stipendsBooks & Clothes AllowanceTuition fees (wherever agreed and apply)Medical coverage (only through government or state sponsored hospitals)Returned air-tickets to join study and after graduation (for students who study abroad only)3. Prospective applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Age not over 24 yearsConfirmed students’ first year admission in approved professional courseHolder of K.C.S.E B+ and above with very good grades in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and BiologyFinancial needyCommitted Muslim and citizen to serve their communityNot recipient of any other scholarshipMust have National Identification Card4. The Scholarship is an interest-free loan (Qard Hassan) to the students to be repaid after graduation in easy installments to IDB Education Trust-Kenya.

5. Interested applicants should collect application forms free of charge from:-

Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims-Nairobi and return them duly filled with copies of all necessary documents, certificates e.t.c on or before 5th April 2011 for serialization.

Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims Merit Scholarship Programme for Muslim Community in Non-Member Countries (MSP/MC) Announcement for Academic Year 1432/2011-2012

The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) is pleased to offer PhD scholarships under “The IDB Merit Scholarship Programme for High Technology for Muslim Communities in Non-Member Countries-MSP/MC”.The Scholarship is awarded for candidates from Muslim Communities to study only in an IDB Member country institution.

Under the Scholarship,selected scholars may pursue a 3-year PhD programme in any of the approved fields in science and high technology at renowned institutions of higher learning in the world.

The scholarship covers:-

Tuition feeLiving allowanceFamily allowanceClothing/books allowanceInstallation allowanceComputer allowanceConference/Thesis preparation allowanceMedical coverageReturn air ticketsProspective applicants must be from a Muslim Community in non-member country of the IDB,attached to a scientific,academic and/or research institution in their respective countries and meet the following eligibility criteria:
Age not over 35 yearsPossess M.Sc degree in science/technologyPossess above average academic standing or “Very Good” overall gradesHaving minimum 2 years work experience in science/technologyHaving proven publications and/or research in science and technology (preferable)Having research proposal in a specific field of study under the Programme directly relevant to country’s national developmentApplication forms can be obtained from Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims office.
