The hospital is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions

Resident Paediatrician

Overall Responsibilities

To provide quality Paediatrics services to both outpatients and inpatients.

He/She will be expected to be an active member of the health care team in the hospital and contribute to the continuing professional development programs of the hospital.

Requirements

M. Med in Paediatrics from the University of Nairobi or equivalent recognized institution.Must be registered/licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.Knowledge of PALS and experience/ interest in Neonatology will be an added advantage.Recently qualified Paediatricians may applyResident Surgeon

Overall Responsibilities

To provide quality surgical services to hospital clients; participate actively in quality improvement activities including continuing medical education. Be available to be consulted and supervise junior medical staff.

Requirements

Basic qualification in medicine.M. Med or equivalent in General Surgery.At least two years post qualification experience.Experience and certification in Endoscopic Surgery would be an advantage.Must be registered/licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.Good PR and communication skills are essential.Applications and detailed curriculum vitae should be addressed to:

DENTAL SURGEON (MOBILE UNIT)
Working in a fully fledged Mobile Unit, the Dental Surgeon will review patients and monitor patients’ progress on a regular basis. S/he will carry out emergency dental procedures as well as attend to non-emergency procedures. S/he will liaise with Consultants on handling
specialized cases in the provision of patient dental health care.

Our institution which is a leading orthorpaedic hospital in Kenya is interested in filling the following posts.

Orthopaedic Surgeon

The suitable candidates should be a young Orthopaedic Surgeon who is interested to train in Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty Surgery.

General Surgeon

The candidate should have a post graduate experience of between 2-3 years in a busy hospital and interested to train in trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery.

Hospital Administrator

Minimum age: 35 years, Finance and Administrative experience in a busy institution.

Remuneration

These posts offer very competitive and attractive salary and performance base allowances for successful candidates for a period of three years

The training in the surgeons’ posts will be done in-house and will be given by an Orthopaedic, Arthroscpy/ Arthroplasty surgeon who has 30 years of experience.

1. Chief Medical Officer
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the position will provide effective guidance and leadership to the Hospital at all levels.

Key functions will include:-

Duties & Responsibilities
* Provides leadership and expertise for hospital quality and clinical effectiveness. The CMO will evaluate and optimize the care management approach, process of disease management, patient satisfaction, patient safety and develop processes to assure appropriateness of care including length of stay and ancillary resource utilization.
* Provides an environment of quality and cost improvement that is data driven and develops systems to review utilization of resources and objectively measure outcomes of care in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
* Monitors physician and group patterns, presents data, analysis and interpretation to physicians and Hospital Administrative Team for review.
* Assures that quality management programs are carried out in all clinical areas through the development and implementation of effective disease management programs, clinical protocols and guidelines, other decision tools, and review of the outcomes.
* Develops a performance database and other key quality indicators to provide leadership necessary to meet regulatory requirements and guidelines.
* Partners and collaborates with the medical staff and management team, facilitating teamwork and shared goals.
* Help represent medical staff viewpoints to administration and relay administrative views to medical staff.
* Develops a clinical decision support system to access utilization, quality and cost data.
* Provides strategic leadership by focusing teams and organization units on visions and distinctive strategies that result in excellent short and long-term performance in clinical services and financial outcomes.
* Integrate evidence- based medicine practices wherever possible, building this into new and existing patient care delivery systems.
* The primary responsibility and authority for dealing with medical staff matters and concerns will rest with the CMO.
* Facilitates, intervenes and moderates all major physician-physician, physician-patient, and physician staff concerns in collaboration with appropriate medical staff and executive team members.
* Establishes and maintains an ongoing program to orient and develop management expertise for Clinical staff and other medical staff leaders.
* (S)he will develop and prioritize goals/objectives and work plans, including the definition and measurement of outcomes, which are consistent with the overall organizational strategy and mission.
* Implement organizational structures which promote shared accountability, high achievement and compliance with applicable laws and regulations: this to include electronic linkages and care delivery tools.
* Ensures medical staff development plans and programs are implemented and maintained as required by policy.
* Integrates clinical care quality and management with nursing, operations and finance: partners with members of the senior management team, particularly the Chief Nursing Officer, in this endeavor.
* Dedicates resources and time to developing physician leadership in an incremental manner, with a focus on the existing medical staff officers and clinical chiefs.
* Interacts with Health care partners at the corporate level, coordinating reporting and collaboration with hospital and system physician leadership and physician peers.
* Facilitating collaboration and teamwork with the medical staff.

Education and Experience
* Medical education and training at institutions of high repute
* Board certification in a clinical discipline is required.
* Additional education and coursework in Management and business would enhance candidacy
* An MBA or equivalent business experience preferred.

Experience
* At least 10 years of clinical practice, with a reputation as an excellent physician
* Demonstrable leadership role and achievement in a complex healthcare delivery system
* Experience in fiscal accountability and budgeting
* Knowledge and experience of quality infrastructure is needed, including how to develop and implement decision tools, clinical protocols and guidelines, care management programs, and outcome measurement assessments.
* 40-50 years of age
* Needs working knowledge of information technology, including statistical analysis, clinical epidemiology and medical informatics: understanding of best practices and how to successfully introduce information technology into clinical practice.

2. Resident Consultant Surgeon
Reports to the Hospital Chief Medical Officer

Duties & Responsibilities
* Involved in regular and grand ward rounds
* Conducts regular Surgical Clinics as per schedule to a large number of clientele
* Available for clinical consultations, Theatre emergencies and clinical teachings to young doctors and Medical Students
* Plans and organizes for Surgical services delivery in the most efficient and effective manner.
* Liaises with Chief Medical Officer and Ministry of Medical Services to ensure high standards of services delivery and internship training.
* Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Requirements
* Must have MBchB Degree from a recognized University
* Must have masters degree in general Surgery from a recognized University
* At least one year Post Training experience from a busy health institution
* Must be registered by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board
* Must have excellent skills in Orthopedics and trauma, General Surgery, and Urology, neurosurgery, Surgical teaching etc.
* An excellent team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
