The Kenya Medical Supplies Agency seeks to recruit a Resource Mobilization Advisor funded by the USAID/Kenya through Kenya's PEPFAR program.
The position will be based at the Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (KEMSA) offices.
The successful candidate will work alongside the KEMSA management for a designated period of time and will support the agency to mobilize adequate resources that will ensure its continued sustainability.
Resource Mobilization Advisor

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Resource Mobilization Advisor will provide overall technical guidance for mobilizing adequate resources both nationally and internationally to enhance the volume of funds and stream line the flow to meet KEMSA needs as well as establish and nurture partnerships with stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
Develop and implement a resource mobilizing strategy for KEMSA, establish targets and funding sourcesProject the financing gaps for KEMSA and mobilize resources from COK, bilateral and multilateral donors, philanthropic foundations, and other sourcesAssist in streamlining the preparation of proposals for donor funding across all KEMSA programsLead and conduct market research to identify opportunities for resource mobilization and stakeholders' opinions and practicesMaintain updated information on current and potential sources of fundingEstablish donor audit and financial reporting requirements and ensure compliance and timely submissionAs the focal contact person assist in management of donor relationshipsDevelop and disseminate to relevant partners quarterly supply chain for public health resource mobilization matrixWork closely with the Public Relations Officer in implementing the organization's communication strategiesEnsure documentation and reporting of KEMSA's ongoing projects activities to financiersNegotiating and managing funding agreements with the financiersMonitor resource allocated throughout the implementation and reporting cycleAny other duty that may be assigned to you by the CEO.Bachelors degree in economics, social sciences, international studies or other relevant fieldA Master's degree in relevant field will be an added advantageAt least five (5 ) years relevant working experience in resource mobilization with international donors, GOK and other partnersStrong financial and business analysis skillsIn-depth knowledge in designing and structuring of public private partnershipsKnowledge of supply chain reforms is desirableSound negotiation and proposal writing skillsGood analytical and strategic skillsTeam player with good communication skillsProficiency in computer skills i.e. word, excel, power point, access etcAbility to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlinesIf your background, experience and competencies match the above specifications please send your detailed CV indicating daytime telephone numbers, address and names of three referees to the address below not later than October 27,2010, quoting the position reference on both the envelope and application letter:
