Job Purpose:  To identify and consolidate information about funding opportunities, coordinate concept note and proposal development, and to support the development and management of donor relationships.  
To support the development of unrestricted income streams through new business ventures, alumni and individual support mobilization, and other fundraising activities and support projects to mobilize community resources in order to reduce expenditure. 1. Project Concept Note and Proposal DevelopmentResearch new funding opportunities and donor priorities, consolidate information on donors Review requests for proposals or applications with the RM team and advise on feasibility of the programs and or projectsDirectly contribute to proposal development by writing, reviewing and submitting proposals, including maintaining high quality documentation of proposals.Liaise with donor staff, partners and respective teams to consolidate inputs for proposals, including managing to deadline select portions for the proposalLead cross-organization teams to development proposalsProvide practical support to teams in proposal development, coordinating the internal review process and providing substantive input on proposalsEdit and format proposals to a final form, as assigned2. Program Officer, Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Water and Livelihoods Network (WALINET) is a National Civil Society Organization dealing with Water, Integrated Natural Resources Management, Livelihoods and Devolution.
The Organization’s core focus is to advocate for better water services delivery to citizens, promote sustainable water resources management, promote opportunities for Kenyans to utilize water resources for prosperity, and facilitate citizen participation in governance and economic development.

National Survey Communication and Mobilization Specialist
The Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation together with KNBS, NACC, KEMRI, NCAPD, NPHLS (NHRL) and other development partners is in the process of finalizing plans for a large National population-based survey to inform the HIV response in Kenya. The survey will sample 10,475households in 419 clusters.
The Ministry with support from EGPAF is therefore seeking the services of a communications specialist to undertake the development of various IEC materials, planning, and assist in the implementation of the community communication and mobilization strategy for the survey with guidance from the Communication and Mobilization Sub–committee of the National survey.
 The specialist to be recruited will be required to undertake the following tasks in consultation with the communication and mobilization subcommittee.Understand the community communication and mobilization strategy for the survey.Work together with the relevant Communication and Mobilization Sub-committee of the Survey TWG, and other stakeholders to gather information required for the development various IEC materials for community communication and mobilization.Review and finalize the Survey communication strategy.Develop targeted messages for the survey for various audiences at the national, provincial and community levels.Use existing data to determine the appropriate channels that will be used to reach the various audiences before, during and after the National survey.Develop a media plan in various media houses before, during and after the survey.Design and develop media material (e.g. media briefs& press releases) and IEC materials (e.g. posters, stickers, brochures, banners) for various target audiences to be translated in 12 local languages used in the survey.Document and report to EGPAF and the Communication and Mobilization Subcommittee of the Survey TWG on all the community communication and mobilization activities undertaken during the period.Monitor media coverage of Survey before, during, and after the survey: to ensure enlisted services are provided by the various media avenues, monitor that communication is appropriate, timely and accurate, and monitor any issues that may disrupt the communication strategy for the survey.Support journalists for effective and accurate reporting on the National survey and findings.As need arises, provide updates to the Survey TWG.This is a short-term contract. The contract will be for a period of 120 days.

RESOURCE MOBILIZATION OFFICER Reporting to New Business Development Manager, the Resource Mobilisation Officer will primarily be responsible mobilising funding and other programs for Act’s programs and projects that include consultancy and grant making

Specific Responsibilities: Excellence Agenda Support projects and programs in achieving Act Resource Mobilization targets. Donor Development Carry out donor policy analysis with focus on gaining a thorough understanding of their funding approaches and programs Support new business development and ensure proposals have tangible measures of success and oversee quality implementation of new programs Work with a team of new business development professionals to grow Act's programs and pursue excellent programme design practice Coordinate and manage proposal development to donors working with NBD manager and NBD staff Directly contribute to proposal development by writing, reviewing and submitting proposals Contribute to strategic decisions on new business Development Review requests for proposals/applications with NBD manager advise on feasibility of the programs /projects Develop a resource mobilization strategy for Act!

Representation and Networking Represent programs and Act as directed and as appropriate. Establish and maintain regular contact with donors and resource mobilization networks/groups in Kenya and abroad. Liaise and co-ordinate with the appropriate government and private sector bodies, whenever appropriate, to ensure successful resource mobilization and program implementation. Identify partnership with institutions and government departments and donors in support of Act activities. Participate in strategic meetings, forums and processes to stay up to date with unfolding events or issues and ensure that Act! is best placed to advice donors on such events or issues.

Performance Indicators Meet at least weekly with NDB team. Document new program ideas and strategic opportunities for the development of full proposals by partner CSOs. Provide a monthly update on the achievement of NBD Document new or shifting specialist knowledge in the Act program areas. Negotiate collaboration with partner institutions and government departments. Any agreements on these collaborations will be well documented and well filed for easy retrieval and future use. Meet above 80% financial targets of NBD

Qualifications, Experience and Skills The minimum required academic and professional skills for the jobholder to perform successfully in their job include:

WWF - The Global Conservation Organization, Kenya Country Office (WWF - KCO), is seeking to recruit a Project Officer - Community Mobilization to be based in Naivasha.

Reporting to the Project Executant, the Project Officer will work on full time basis to ensure that the project outputs and activities in his / her area of assignment are carried out as laid down in the project documents and are articulated to meet the laid down project objectives.

The Incumbent will participate in strategic partnership-building at the project level.

Major duties include:

Undertaking project implementation, partner identification and develop project lateral and vertical partnership, roles and capacity, and provide strategic analysis and engagement approaches for the partners to ensure active participation in delivering the project vision and goal;
Harmonize partner interests and support joint activities amongst partners, including liaising with local communities, partners, local authorities and the government including relevant government agencies;
Build effective conflict abetment and resolution intervention among the different project communities/partners to ensure harmonious involvement among all stakeholders;
Work closely and strengthen viable local community structures for effective project implementation;
Work closely with the Project Resource Economist and WWF-KCO Policy Officer and other consultants to understand the difficulties local communities have on the use of natural resources in the basin and develop a sustainable strategy;
Undertake project education programme and assist in the development of project education and communication materials for sharing information, represent and share the vision and goals of WWF project at all levels.Required Qualifications and Experience;
A University Degree in Sociology, Community Development or closely related field;
At least 5 years working experience in Community development and mobilization with a strong bias towards community based approaches;
Experience in designing and pre-testing and implementing community and stakeholder mobilization and organization processes;
Proven community mobilisation skills are essential;
Excellent inter-personal skills, with the ability to network and to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels, both internally and with local communities, government agencies;
Excellent oral and written communications skills in English;

African Union/Inter-African Bureau for Animal Resources (AU/IBAR) The African Union – Interafrican Bureau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR) aims to provide leadership in the development of animal resources for Africa. By supporting and empowering the African Union member states and the Regional Economic Communities (RECs), AU-IBAR’s vision is of an Africa free from hunger and poverty in which animal resources make a significant contribution within the global arena. Founded in 1951 to study the epidemiological situation and fight rinderpest in Africa, AU-IBAR’s mandate covers all aspects of animal resources, including livestock, fisheries and wildlife, across the entire African continent, but fills a unique and strategic niche by working at continental and regional levels, with the RECs being key partners.
For the implementation of its strategic plan 2010-2014, AU-IBAR seeks the services of Resource Mobilization Officer.

2. Major duties and responsibilities:
The Resource Mobilisation officer will assist AU/IBAR to develop the right profile vis-?-vis the donor community, inform AU/IBAR on donor and foundation strategies and funding opportunities, expand the present support base and assure quality of proposals submitted to donors.

The incumbent will:

3. Educational qualifications:
An advanced degree (Msc) in economics, finance, business administration or management. A first level university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

4. Work experience:
The candidate has at least 7 years experience in an development environment as advisor on development cooperation or manager of donor funded programmes with 3 of which are at international level. Working experience and/or specific knowledge of the African Development context is an important advantage.

5. Other relevant skills:

* Tact and diplomacy;
* Highly organised and capable to deliver;
* Visionary and innovative.

6. Language requirement:
Proficiency in one of the African Union working languages is a requirement. Knowledge of one or more of the other AU working languages would be an added advantage.

8. Tenure of Appointment:
The appointment shall be for an initial period of two (2) years, the first six (6) months of which shall be on probation. It shall be renewable by one (1) year subject to performance and availability of funds.
