A mid-sized civil engineering company operating within the East African region. The company has been in operation for nearly ten years now and is currently undertaking an aggressive growth campaign while enhancing its operational effectiveness.
The company seeks to recruit a General Manager in charge of operations, a new position created to facilitate its growth and expansion.
The Position
This position requires the General Manager to:
Coordinate the projects operations to ensure that the work is executed on time, budget and in accordance with the client’s requirements.Champion a focus on quality by instituting a quality assurance and control framework.Oversee the preparation of quotations and tendering, in collaboration with the Operations Manager.Oversee performance management throughout the organization including employees’ professional development and career growth.Coordinate and supervise the support functions including Administration/ Human Resource and Finance.Manage the development and monitoring of overall organization, departmental and project budgets.Foster continuous improvement to increase the efficiency of projects and supporting operations.Hold a University Degree from a reputable university in a business related field, preferably with postgraduate qualificationPossess 5 years minimum experience in leadership, 2 in a senior management capacityHave a track record in successfully managing projects to timely completionAble to lead and motivate groups and individuals working with multiple deadlines and tight time constraints.
