 Introduction: The Transparency and Accountability Habitat for Information and Communication (Tachicom-Kenya) has a mission to support institutions and citizens to harness information, communication and IT solutions across all sectors for transparency and accountability through policy, management, development, maintenance, training and knowledge sharing. Among its objectives, is to build the capacity of citizens and institutions to harness and utilize the tools for effective service delivery.
In this regard, the Research and Business Development team provides support to the core programmes of Tachicom-Kenya. The Business and Marketing Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the habitat is well placed/represented within its niche and that the marketing strategies employed are in conformity with the Tachicom-Kenya work.

Job Purpose: Responsible for the coordination and execution of all marketing activities, such as, collateral production, advertising and promotional programmes and all efforts required to effectively represent the habitat and events to customers and stakeholders. Accomplishes business development activities by researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans; implementing sales plans; managing staff.Develop and manage the production of events’ marketing collateral and ensuring that deadlines are metCoordination of events’ advertising and promotional programmesDevelop and coordinate advertising materials or related communication activities such as media conferencesCo-ordinate and management of eventsMedia tracking and tabulationKeep current with marketing trends, innovations, communication techniques and any media regulationsAchieves marketing and sales operational objectives by contributing marketing and sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change. Analyzing market trends and results; establishing pricing strategies; monitoring costs, competition, supply, and demand. Accomplishes marketing and sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs; developing field sales action plans. Identifies marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share. Improves company marketability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities; coordinating new product development. Sustains rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities.Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Accomplishes marketing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.Internal Contacts: Writers and Designers, Information Technology department, Communications, Accounts department and Management teamExternal Contacts: Printers, government agencies, other communications / marketing coordinators, PR and advertising agencies, journalists, business associates, and guestsDegree in Marketing Communications / Marketing / Business related subjectGood interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent command of written and spoken EnglishGood command of written and spoken Mandarin and /or a third language an advantageEffective research and writing skillsInitiative, eye for details and a team playerResourceful, flexible and responsive in dealing with peopleAbility to work under pressure, short deadlines and extra hours if needed on assignmentsExperience in collateral production, marketing and PR activities, and project management are an advantageComputer skills with proficient in MS Office applications Financial Planning and Strategy, Marketing Concepts, Positioning, People Management, Sales Planning, Competitive Analysis, Understanding the Customer, Product Development, Client Relationships, Creative Services Find application procedure and more information on the website here Application deadline 11th June 2014 .
