The Operations Manager role is a unique opportunity to help drive growth through the optimization of our growing number of Riders.
This data driven role calls for a rare combination of analytical thinking & interpersonal skills. This person will work closely with our Riders as well as our Engineers in Nairobi to monitor Rider behavior and ensure efficiency through scheduling, asset utilization, and Rider incentive programs.
Responsibilities for Operations Manager Job
General Rider Management: Requires strong interpersonal skills. This person will be responsible for end-to-end operations and management of all things Rider related.
Rider recruitment and vetting.
Rider on-boarding and training.
Fleet management and scheduling (supply-chain management).
Manage insurance negotiations, partnerships, and claims for our Riders and packages.
Handle emergency issues on the road with any of our Riders or packages.
Be responsible for Rider logbooks and confirmations on all deliveries.
Manage delivery requests in real-time and ensure Rider dispatches.
Work side-by-side Community Manager to ensure delivery requests are handled quickly and efficiently, guaranteeing quality customer experience.
Issue Rider weekly payments.
Support Logistics Director.
Rider Analytics and Optimization:
Heavy metrics analysis and product/process improvement.
Report on weekly delivery and Rider metrics.
Track Rider costs and efficiencies.
Support on expansion planning & recruiting. Evaluate the economic and strategic costs and benefits of driver incentive programs and work with Logistics Manager to execute those strategies.
Contract Negotiation and Fulfillment:
Support in building and negotiating large partnership deals that require allocated riders, specific trainings, and scheduled or unique delivery requirements.
Identify, evaluate, negotiate and manage strategic fleet partnerships and driver development.
Identify partnership pilots and coordinate Rider testings for unique clients.
Qualifications for Operations Manager Jobs in Kenya
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance or Operations Management.
2 – 4 years of operations/analytical or related experience.
Data driven decision making mentality and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking.
Relevant experience in logistics software or car services is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills – ability to maintain respectful and close relationships with all of our Riders.
