Head of Business Development & Marketing
Ref: HBDM/1/5/HRD/2015
The main purpose for the job is to undertake the marketing and promotion of the company’s products and services in accordance with the company’s plans in order to meet targets for growth and to contribute to company profitability.
It is also responsible for developing appropriate products and marketing strategies for the company to win new business at the appropriate margin.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the CEO the successful candidate will be expected to handle the following: -
Strategic and Business Management
- Take the lead in the formulation, development and review of marketing policies and strategies that optimize sales of company services
- Develop concept papers, proposals and expression of interest to support new product and business growth and development.
- Provide business development and marketing support to branch offices as required from time to time
- Support the preparation of budgets and monitor expenditure for the unit.
- Ensure periodic reviews of the performance of the company’s products.
- Support the development and implementation of a corporate public relations and communications strategy for the company.
- Support the branches in deposit mobilization activities and initiatives
Marketing and Sales Management
- Develop and execute marketing plans, and programs both short and long term to ensure market share growth
- Coordinate products promotional activities and events with appointed agencies and ensure adherence to company and product guidelines
- Prepare and present to the Management regular sales and marketing status reports as required.
- Participate in development of pricing strategies, balancing firm objectives and customer satisfaction.
- Evaluate the financial aspects of product development, including the product’s budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, return-on-investment, and profit-loss projections.
- Facilitate periodic market research studies to support product and service delivery and business development.
- Undertake periodic analysis of business performance and table marketing reports for the Management, and assist in formulating and coordinating marketing activities and policies to promote products and services.
Product and Brand Development and Management
- Conduct market research, intelligence and analysis in order to develop new and competitive product
- Monitor competing products and services in the market and advise SMEP for necessary action.
- Assist in branding of the company to achieve a competitive niche in the market
Customer Service and Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain an effective customer liaison program for the company.
- Develop and ensure implementation of effective customer care mechanism that ensures responsiveness to customers’ expectation
Perform any other duties assigned by the management/supervisor from time to time
Qualifications and Competencies
- Masters in Business Administration degree with a bias in Marketing
- Post graduate diploma in Communications and Public Relations, Management, or Leadership
- Member of Chartered Institute of Marketing, PR or Communications
- Have 3 years relevant work experience preferably in a financial/microfinance environment
- Be aged between 35-45 years
- Applicants must be committed Christians
Other Key Skills
- Posses a demonstrated ability in strategy formulation,
- excellent public relations and communication skills,
- a team player with excellent managerial, organization and interpersonal skills including ICT skills
