Vacancy: Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) – East & Southern AfricaReporting to:

HR Operations Manager
 



Department: HR (Location:  Nairobi, Kenya)Our client is a global, innovation-driven biopharmaceutical business that focuses on the discovery, development and commercialization of prescription medicines, primarily for the treatment of cardiovascular, metabolic, respiratory, inflammation, autoimmune, oncology, infection and neuroscience diseases.


They operate in over 100 countries and its innovative medicines are used by millions of patients worldwide.  


In East Africa they are represented in four countries i.e Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda.  


Kenya is the hub of East Africa business and offers marketing & sales support to the rest of the EAC community.  


They are seeking to recruit an experienced Human Resource Business Partner East and Southern Africa (HRBP) 


 


Position Purpose: This role is responsible for the complete Human Resources function for East Africa and Southern African countries where our company is present.The incumbent will be a key player involved in assessing, planning, executing and implementing HR operations in support of the business objectives within the established budget and timelines..

Key Performance Area:



Provide human resources generalist services including and not limited to compensation & benefits, employee relations, performance management, training and development; talent management; and ad hoc project implementation in the countries.

Assist with recruitment efforts to meet staffing requirements at all levels within required budget and timelines.

Administering & improving policies and programs in all areas of human resources management such as recruitment and selection, compensation, payroll, benefits, training and organizational development.

Coordinating both on and off boarding initiatives. 

Identifying resources needed and assigning individual responsibilities for projects and processes

Managing day-to-day execution of assigned Human Resources work activities.

Clearly demonstrating the leadership traits that support the goals, missions, and values of the company

Build credibility with managers with effective business partnering and deliver results to their organization in all Human Resources functions.

Provide timely and accurate HR Reports to the HR Operations manager

Engagement visits to all countries this role is responsible for.


Minimum Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field  and/or 6 years minimum Human Resource Generalist experience

Ability to build and sustain relationships and networks internally at the company and external networks to ensure best practice.

Willingness to travel as and when required.

Excellent ability to organize and communicate concepts both written & verbal

Multi-task, prioritize and own/drive projects to completion

Exercise sound judgment, common sense and maintain confidentiality

Proficient with MS Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Working in a changing environment and solid understanding of people processes and relations

Highly developed analytical skill set, ability to make connections across multiple work streams

Portuguese speaking will be an added advantage (not a requirement)
