Our client is a leading research firm that offers market and products insights to clients such as large multinationals in FMCG, finance, telecommunication and healthcare companies. They seek to hire a Research Director who will lead in the Development, implementation, monitoring and achievement of business targets and plan. Ideal candidates must have a research background preferably with a consultancy firm

Research Director Job Principal Responsibilities

Overall in charge of research project management & analysis and data collection.

Supervise, train and mentor a team of Associate Research Directors, Research Managers, Analysis Managers,

Data Collection Managers and executives

Providing technical support and business development assistance to Consumer Insight offices outside Kenya (currently in Tanzania and Uganda).

Writing, reviewing and presenting research proposals, instruments and reports.

Reviewing new client briefs, discussing the research approach & allocating proposal preparation work to the research teams

Reviewing and preparing research instruments (questionnaires, discussion guides, observation checklists) for key and complex projects

Reviewing research proposals , analysis plans and research reports

Preparing clients presentations, reviewing clients feedback and acting appropriately

Supervise progress & job updates with the research, analysis & data ollection teams and resolving conflicts/ problems/ issues

Providing all the support above to country offices outside Kenya on need basis

Recruiting, motivating, training and evaluation of research project teams, analysts and data collection workers

Reviewing business performance, developments and implementation of business plans

Advising on organisation structure and resource development strategy

Skills & Qualifications for Research Director Jobs in Kenya


Masters degree in Business Administration/ Management

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, statistics, commerce, economics or related fields

Training in market research and data analysis

Further professional training in Management from reputable institutions

At least 10 years’ experience in market research gained from working at middle to senior level in an agency

At least 5 years’ brand/marketing management or advertising experience

Creativity and analytical skills

Regular international travel, mainly within Africa

Working long hours

Work delivery pressure

Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills

Team building and team leadership skills

Good organisation, mentoring and communication skills

Good computer skills

Honest , Integrity, Reliability, Curiosity, Leadership, Problem solving ability, Quick thinker, Proactive and confidence

High energy and self-driven , High level of accuracy/attention to detail
