Salary: $ 8500 – $9500 gross per month plus other benefits


Our client is a leading multinational company that manufactures and supply fuel pumps and dispensers to petroleum companies in South and Sub Saharan Africa.


They also offer comprehensive repair, maintenance and fuel site asset care services. They seek to hire a Managing Director for their Kenyan operations.


Ideal candidate should have worked previously or currently for companies owned outside Kenya e.g. South Africa, Europe, America


Managing Director Job Key accountabilities


Leadership


Develop and implement a vision and strategic plan to guide the organization.

Successfully implementing company policy

Directing strategy towards the profitable growth and operation of the company

Foster effective team work within the organization at levels i.e. management and staff

Identify and asses internal and external risk. Representing the company to major customers and professional associations.


Operational Planning and management


Develop and implement an operational plan which incorporates goals and objectives that works towards the strategic direction.

Put in place adequate operational planning and financial control systems

Oversee planning, implementation and evaluation of services and projects

Ensure that the operations meets the expectation of clients and stakeholders

Oversee efficient and effective day – to -day operations of the business


Human Resource management


Recruitment, coach and mentoring of staff, performance management, discipline staff


Financial management


Prepare budget

Ensure sound bookkeeping and accounting procedures and processes are followed

Ensure compliance with all legislation covering tax

Administer the funds according to approved budget and monitor monthly cash flow, debtors and creditors


HSEE Management


Marketing operations


Develop new marketing initiatives to maximize utilization of the company’s equipment and capabilities.
Skills and qualifications for Director Jobs in Kenya

Minimum Bachelors degree in engineering, MBA preferred

Experience working with manufacturing based technology processes and principles is preferred

5 – 10 yrs of management experience in operations, financial planning and management, Human resources planning and management, Project management and HSSE management

Strong interpersonal skills with an understanding of diverse backgrounds and an emphasis on communication: training, team building, negotiation skills, interdepartmental interaction, leadership, supervision, motivation, directing and management planning

Excels at operating in a fast paced environment

Ability to effectively run the Performance Management exercise

Should possess stress Management/composure skills

Business Acumen with technical capacity to manage operations

Personal Effectiveness/Credibility

Problem Solving/Analysis.

Must possess strong Leadership skills

Must be conversant with MS office and computer packages
