Vacancy Announcement: Product Development Manager 

Our client is a leading social enterprise operating in the livestock sector in Kenya with the aim of revolutionizing the provision of livestock and veterinary services to pastoralists and farmers in Kenya by creating a more sustainable service delivery model. 

With over 4 year’s business presence in Kenya and with over 85 franchises and 95 outlets all over the country, they are looking to hire a proactive and dynamic professional to join their team as a Product Development Manager. 

This role will report directly to the Commercial Director and will be based in Nairobi with average to high travel requirement.
 

Job Purpose / Summary: The Product Development Manager will be responsible for ensuring profitably of the company’s product portfolio. 

This will include sourcing and bringing quality products into the market; positioning and pricing as well as ensuring the company’s products are quality-assured and well differentiated from competition. 

The position holder will be responsible for reporting on profitability per product and category and developing product marketing budgets and plans for various flagship products.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Managing Company Product portfolio productivity


• Reporting and advisory on product positioning, pricing, viability and compliance


• Reporting on profitability per product and category and developing product marketing budgets and plans for various flagship products.


• Conduct market intelligence and benchmarking within the industry to identify gaps in product offering that Sidai Africa can leverage on.


• Develop strategic partnerships with international companies and suppliers in the aim of acquiring superior product offering and developing new and differentiated products.


• Manage and coordinate the supply chain for effective planning of products to ensure availability as per demand.


• Provide oversight management to the manufacturing process


• Develop and manage product development life cycle to ensure new and existing products are relevant and profitable to the business as well as develop effective Route to Market strategies and product launches.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related


• 5 years’ experience in product, business development and sales from the industry


• Understanding of veterinary pharmaceutical industry either in livestock or crop


• International business exposure is a critical requirement


• Relationship management and Key account management skills and experience

Salary Budget: Kshs. 200,000 Basic plus benefits
