Import & Export Manager Jobs at Brites Management

Location: Nairobi

Nature of Job: Full time

Salary: 100K Gross

Our client seeks to recruit an Import and Export Manager with FMCG or manufacturing companies’ experience. The incumbent will manage the import and export processes and ensure compliance with the government regulations.

She/he will be involved in planning and implementing strategies on documentation, tracking, packaging, customs, shipping procedures, price negotiation and shipment.

Import & Export Manager Job Responsibilities

• Supervising import / export department.


• Handling import export documentation using kentrade, Simba system


• Conversant with all custom field-JKlA, FORODHA, KPA and all CFS.


• Conversant with custom tariffs and classification.


• Coordination with clearing agents.


• Verification of import/export documents/charges.


• Handling import declaration forms (lDF)


• Handling clearance of import cargo


• Handling clearance of Export cargo-COMESA,EAC


• Follow up of shipments before and after arrival at the ports.


• Lodging permits through the KENTRADE system pharmacy & poison board, KEBS, Kenya Plant Health & inspectorate services


• Handling all import/export documentation and tracking consignments


• Processing of Kenya Bureau of Standards certificate of conformity


• General customs declaration for various entries


• Solving problems raised by the customs officer against consignments


• Bond Execution and cancellation for the same


• Knowledge in sugar import procedures


• Any other duties as may be assigned

Requirements for the Import & Export Manager Job

• Diploma/Degree in Procurement/ Purchasing and Supplies/Logistics Management or any other related field


• 5+ years’ experience as an import/export manager in a busy environment


• Certificate in Simba system,Tradex and Orbus


• Diploma in Clearing & Forwarding will be an added advantage


• A good team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Analytical with problem solving skills


• Independent with ability to work under minimal supervision


• Excellent computer skills
