Role title: Organisational Development Consultant – End FGM Grants Programme

Short introduction
The Organisational Development Consultant will be responsible for providing capacity building resources and tools for the End FGM Grants Programme grantees in Kenya, Nigeria and The Gambia. The consultancy will support four of the six capacity areas: human resources, financial management, organisational management and programme management.
Summary purpose and objective of role
The End FGM Grants Programme intends to offer capacity development support to our grantees. In determining the capacity development needs of grantees, an organisational capacity assessment (OCA) was conducted to determine the critical elements for effective organisational management and to identify those areas that need strengthening. The OCA assessment identified six priority areas including; financial management, organisational management, human resources, programme management, social change communications and child safeguarding. The consultancy will support four of the six capacity areas: human resources, financial management, organisational management and programme management.
Person specification
- The candidate will hold a professional qualification or degree in a relevant subject (organisational development, financial management, human resourced management, business administration or other relevant fields)
- The candidate will have considerable experience (or equivalent) in developing and/or delivering capacity development support to grantees and preferably to grassroots organisations
- The candidate will have knowledge of the context of the countries in consideration i.e. Kenya, Nigeria and The Gambia
- The candidate will have an ability to effectively identify client needs, design and facilitate customised interventions
- The candidate will be fluent in English
- The candidate will have an understanding of and personal commitment to international human rights principles, including women’s and children’s rights

end FGM through communications, advocacy and campaigning. The Girl Generation End FGM Grants Programme has so far awarded grants in Nigeria, Kenya and the Gambia.
