Our client is an oils manufacturing company at the EPZ, Kitengela. They are seeking to recruit a highly ambitious candidate to fill in the following position in their office:
FINANCE MANAGER
Job Summary
To handle all aspects of Finance by providing appropriate financial advice. The role will be in charge of budgeting, financial analysis, and capital asset as well as implementing financial control policies, systems, and procedures in line with International Accounting Standards
Responsibilities
- Record and Report measurements of the cost of manufacturing goods and performing services in aggregate;
- Costing of various offerings of the company;
- Coordinate preparation of accurate and up-to-date financial and management accounting information to facilitate decision making;
- Establish and continuously update internal control systems and procedures to ensure prudent use of financial resources;
- Coordinate the budget preparation process of the company and prepare the related special revisions promptly;
- Develop, implement and monitor effective systems of monitoring performance against budget including key financial performance indicators;
- Assist budget holders with preparation of business plans and capital investment appraisals;
- Ensure timely monthly reconciliation of budget adjustments to the agreed expenditure plan;
- Review and benchmark operational costs and capital expenditure with the industry standards to ensure they remain within acceptable limits;
- Ensure maintenance of an up-to-date assets register;
- Facilitate training sessions for central finance staff members and develop non-finance managers with appropriate knowledge for financial decision making;
- Analyze and report significant budget variances and identify possible remedial actions in consultation with divisional accountants;
- Prepare divisional and corporate forecasts for income and expenditure on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis;
- Prepare and submit periodic statements, reports, and reconciliations together with appropriate interpretation and recommendations for the Senior Management Team within agreed timelines;
- Ensure effective treasury management including the Company’s bank accounts, loans, and other financial instruments;
- Maintain robust cash handling and banking procedures;
- Ensure that closing stocks in financial statements can be tied up to physical stocks and differences are investigated promptly and resolved;
- Provide advisory services on building the investment portfolio of the Company;
- Ensure full integration of all ERP financial transactions; and
- Identify, deploy and motivate the finance team including performance appraisal, identification of training needs, mentorship and coaching as well as leave and absence management in line with the company’s people agenda.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting or Business Administration with Finance Option) or any other Business-related Degree from a recognized university;
- Must have a minimum of eight (8) years experience, five of which (5) should be in a management role;
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPAK), ACCA, CIFA, CFA or a KISM Diploma and a member of ICPAK, ICIFA or KISM;
- Must be strong in Cost Accounting and Reporting;
- Must have a good understanding of the Constitution, Public Finance Management Act, and related legislation, financial reporting accounting standards;
- Must have worked in the manufacturing sector;
- Must be familiar with the major Investments trends for similar industries; and
- Must have leadership and supervisory skills.
