The Kenya Girl Guides Association (KGGA) is a member organization of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). KGGA is registered by an Act of Parliament (CAP 220 of the laws of Kenya) and has been active in Kenya since 1920, making it one of the country’s oldest youth Associations.

KGGA operates through a value based program and has a national membership of over 155, 000 girls representing every race, ethnicity, culture, class and religion in Kenya. KGGA’s mission statement is “To provide opportunity for girls and young women to develop their fullest potential as responsible citizens of the world”

Responsibilities:

Will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing of PR and communication strategies; Coordinate and maintain good relations with various stakeholders, both internal and externalBuild and maintain a good rapport with the media Write and edit articles about KGGA for various media Prepare and supervise the production of various publicity materialsOrganize various events throughout the calendar year Identify and maintain a strong fundraising network for the organizationIdentify sponsorship opportunities Responsible for the PR and Communication budgetCoordinate research, monitoring and evaluation initiativesCreate a crisis management manualGraduate in PR/Communications; Business/Management (Marketing)At least 3 years experience in similar position with proven track record of creating positive impact on business through PR and communication activitiesGood interpersonal skillsStrong writing skills with the ability to produce compelling articlesExcellent communication and strong presentation skills - candidate must be discreet, confident and articulateAbility to work unsupervised, multitask and work in a fast paced environment Pro-active and able to show initiativeCreative and strategic thinker Proficient in MS Word programmes; working knowledge of design and production using various media an advantageProject Proposal writing knowledge is a plusKnowledge and interaction with the Girl Guide movement will be an added advantageTo apply, please submit a Cover letter and updated CV in the form of Word attachments via email to: info@kgga.co.ke with a Ref: PRO 2010 in the subject line, no later than 5pm on 7th January, 2011.
