Head Nurse - Hospital

MSF Switzerland (MSFCH) is a humanitarian medical organization providing emergency medical aid to populations in need.

At present, MSFCH operates in three programmes locations in Kenya, Somalia and Sudan:

Location: Dagahaley, Dadaab Refugee Camp

Start date: November, 2010

Type of contract: 6 months fixed term (with possibility of extension)

Main Tasks:

Support the Hospital Nursing Supervisor in the nursing activitiesEnsure advanced nursing care by MSF Nursing staff according to MSF ProtocolSupervise the Central Pharmacy Stock in collaboration with PharmacistWork in collaboration with the Health Post Nurse for continuity of care & Logistics Department to meet Hospital needs.Support and supervise the Head Nurse in the Hospital ManagementAssure adequate staff of the nursing teamReport immediately to the technical referent any problem arising in the service, especially the loss/robbery/damage of medical equipment or medicinesDefine the priorities in terms of training needs as well as the learning objectivesImplement training according to MSF Protocols and guidelines.Nurse with diploma/degree recognised by the government and registered and licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya.2 year experience working in a busy hospital setup as a Head NurseMSF experience an advantageOrganized, methodical and accurateAble to work to strict deadlines and under pressure.Good team player.Motivated with a demonstrated ability to adapt to new working methods.Ability to live and work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.Send your CV, motivation letter, copies of relevant documents, mentioning on the envelope “Head Nurse - Hospital” to:
