Head of Sales Job in Kenya - Waste Collection and Processing

Summary: Our client is an innovative young company that seeks to change the waste management and recycling space in Nairobi and beyond. The company is currently scaling up its operations and is looking to recruit a Head of Sales responsible for growing the waste collection services and waste-to-value products.

You will be in charge of management the company’s sales: from waste collection services to various waste-to-value products development, sales and marketing. 

As part of the management team, you will take up significant responsibility in a fast-growing company.

Key Responsibilities
Put in place sales strategies that are aligned to overall organizational plans and strategies.Lead the development and implementation of the annual sales plansTake overall responsibility for the urban retail, recycling, and agricultural marketsAccomplishes sales objectives by liaising with relevant internal teams such as collection, processing and product development to plan, develop, implement and evaluating sales action plans.Build and maintaining effective and fruitful relationships/rapport with clients which will include making periodic visits, carrying out negotiations etc. Prepare monthly reports on sales activities to highlight both latent opportunities and challenges. Review sales results monthly and initiate appropriate action steps to deliver the targetsLead and motivate the sales force to achieve excellent customer relationships and business resultsCoach and develop key talent within sales organizationUniversity degreeA minimum of 8 years senior sales experience gained in a mid-size to large organization with high professional and ethical standardsParticular strong experience in selling services, with a focus on larger clients (including government institutions)Experience of managing and leading sales teams across different product/service areasProven team-building and leadership skills (i.e. situational leadership)Hands-on approachStrong focus on setting up and implementing structures and innovative sales strategiesPassion for planning and implementationThrive on challenge in a fast growing innovative start-up cultureShow initiative and work under pressureExcellent organizational skillsAdaptability to both local and international business cultureHigh level of integritySend your application including a cover letter demonstrating why you are the most suited for this role, a detailed CV highlighting relevant experience, details of current and expected salary, a daytime phone contact, email address, and the names of three professional referees by close of business Wednesday 14th May 2014.
